Fine Art
Fine art to me is all about the process and craft towards a final destination. It guides me as a designer to not only establish my own personal process, but also to allow me to get away from the screen and understand the building and creation by hand.
B&W Film Photography
I created a digital copy of a photography book that is full of my own photographs. Half are hand developed in the dark room and half were scanned digitally. The intent is to capture the the ways in which humans act to conform to societal standards as well as the use of objects and how they are worn down by the human body. I find human nature interesting, which is why I wanted to expand upon things that are a part of our daily subconscious.
Black and white photography has allowed me to form a better understanding of shadows and composition in both photography and design. I also fell in love with the developing process along the way.
Some Bonus Shots…

Screen Printing
The concept of layering and placement that comes with screen printing is not new to me. However; manually having to register and print colors came with a slight learning curve and patience. Designing for screen print is a different way to create art than other graphic design projects. I love the flat and sharp qualities that come with this ink and process.
Oil Painting
Oil painting is a unique medium that I have had a great appreciation for since being introduced to it in high school. The slow drying qualities allows one to follow a unique process. Throughout the oil painting course that I took, I tried various techniques and styles to achieve the three pieces on the right.

Fiber Arts
Fiber arts has allowed me to discover new mediums to work with. After undergrad I want to start making my own clothing as a non-work and creative hobby. Through crochet, weaving, and felting I have found a new appreciation for fibers.
